8:25 - summit of Audobon via southeast ridge
9:00 - summit of Paiute
10:00 summit of Toll via north ridge (5.6) -- 3 pitches or so, each about
5.6-5.6 to a wide bench, then either sneak left (sketch) or right (easy)
around a big fin and scramble to the summit.
10:25 Pawnee
11:00 summit of Shoshone -- now head west along the broad slopes, until they
begin to ramp down to the lip of the big cliffs. Walk north a bit until you
see a big promontory. Descend the gully (which begins with a horribly steep
and loose talus bowl) just north of the promontory (about 100 yards). As it
cliffs out after 500? feet traverse left (south) on exposed slabs until
you're below the huge, wet vertical wall with the black streaks. Weave back
and forth down slabs and gullies (some downclimbing up to about 5.6) until
you get to easier ground the nice, meadowy valley in the Lone Eagle Cirque.
1:30 summit of Lone Eagle via the Stettner Route (North Face - 5.7) I
stopped at the stream below to refill my water bottles.
3:00 summit of Iriquois via the Mohling Traverse -- I don't remember much
about this except that you reverse Solo Flight (Class IV) and stay more or
less on the ridge, avoiding gendarmes, the usual. Lots of scrambling and
short, 5th class steps.
4:30 summit of Apache -- the traverse from Iriquois to Apache remains fairly
grueling, with mild exposure but lots of navigation
5:10 summit of Navajo via the west face (5.4)
5:45 the high point on Niwot Ridge, sort of a gendarme about halfway to
where the ridge flattens out and hits tundra. Continue along the ridge to
the tundra, then drop down and left (north) to avoid the research station,
and continue for a mile or two through meadows toward Long Lake, until you
hit a prominent drainage above the west end of the lake. Drop down steep
grass and into a gully, then hike through trees to the Long Lake Trail, and
back around to the pavement and the trailheads.
7:20 back at my car.
hope this helps
